10. Jose Chakala
Jose Chakala holds the number 10 spot on the list of the top 10 best comedians in Uganda. He’s an online content creator and comedian, well-known for his humorous videos on social media platforms. He regularly releases comedy videos on all his social media accounts, especially TikTok.
With over 1 million followers on TikTok, more than 150,000 followers on Facebook, and 20,000 YouTube subscribers, his popularity and comedic talent are evident. Occasionally, he collaborates with Ugandan female singer Spice Diana in his comedy videos, setting him apart from other TikTok comedians and adding quality to his work.
9. Taata Sam
Taata Sam is ranked as the 9th best comedian in Uganda for the year 2024. He emerged during the social media era, following a similar path as Teacher Mpamire, starting his comedy on social media and later transitioning to live performances.
Taata Sam has become one of the most beloved local comedians in the country, particularly among those who cherish and uphold our traditional cultures. His comedy often revolves around these traditions. He has a YouTube following of 110,000 subscribers and 25,000 followers on Facebook.
8. Swengere Family
The Swengere family, a comedy group based in Jinja, Uganda, achieved the 8th position among the best comedians in Uganda in 2024.
They initially gained popularity through social media, and their audio skits were later featured on Baba FM, the largest radio station in the Busoga region, which further elevated their fame. Following their success with Baba FM, they secured a contract with Bukedde TV to air their comedy skits daily, expanding their reach and audience. 7. Teacher Mpamire
Herbert Mendo Ssegujja, also known by his stage name Teacher Mpamire, is the 7th best comedian in Uganda in 2024. He is most famous for mimicking the Ugandan president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Teacher Mpamire was one of the earliest comedians to embrace social media and YouTube.

She is one of the first comedians to bring English comedy to Uganda at a time when everyone thought comedy was only for the Baganda.

2. Patrick Salvador Idringi
Patrick Salvado, also known as “The Man from Ombokolo,” is the second biggest and best comedian in Uganda as of 2024. He was the first runner-up in the MultiChoice Africa-organized comedy competition, Standup Uganda, in 2009.

The best comedian in Uganda is Mc Mariach. The comedy store’s best comedian is also the best comedian in Uganda. Mc Mariach started as an intern for MC Kapale but managed to rise above his mentor and establish a relationship with Alex Muhangi of Comedy Store, eventually becoming its lead comedian.
Mc Mariach is one of the most expensive comedians out there and is among the few who receive tips of over one million Ugandan shillings for every performance.
