A wave of outrage has swept through the East African Institute of Management Sciences (EAIMS) following a shocking incident involving a newly elected student leader during the recent Guild Government celebrations.
Eyewitnesses report that the student, who had just been elected as the Guild Minister for Internal Affairs, was heavily intoxicated and publicly urinated on the institution’s wall. The act, which was witnessed by many and captured on camera, has stirred significant backlash across campus. While some students chose not to share the images out of respect for the institution’s image, the story has continued to circulate widely.
Students and faculty alike are demanding accountability, calling on the current Guild Government to conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate disciplinary action. Many are questioning the quality of leadership being elected and the standards being upheld within the student body.
EAIMS has not yet released an official statement, but pressure continues to mount for swift and decisive action to preserve the dignity of student leadership and the reputation of the institution.
Adding further controversy, the student in question had previously served in the same role under the 15th Guild Government. He recently transitioned from a certificate to a diploma program, reportedly without receiving his final certificate results—raising questions about procedural loopholes in academic progression.
A former Guild President, who led a widely respected administration, condemned the behavior in strong terms. Speaking to the press, he said:
> “This kind of conduct is not only shameful but a direct insult to the values and reputation of EAIMS. Student leaders are expected to be role models. What happened is unexpected, and the current Guild must act swiftly. Failure to address such indiscipline erodes the integrity of student governance.”
