Angaba LC1 Chairperson Issues Tough Warning to Suspected Youth Thieves.

Leaders in Angaba Village, Koro Sub-county, Omoro District have sounded a strong warning to individuals suspected of engaging in theft within the community.

Ojara Francis, the LC1 Chairperson of Angaba Village, has cautioned local youth believed to be behind recent theft cases that security agencies are closely monitoring the situation and action will soon be taken against those responsible.

His remarks follow two separate incidents that have unsettled residents. Over the weekend, a women’s group operating in Barogal Trading Centre reported the disappearance of four sewing machines. The equipment had been donated to support income-generating activities and improve the livelihoods of young mothers in the area.

According to Ojara, the loss has deeply affected the beneficiaries who depended on the machines to sustain their families. He expressed concern that some unemployed youth in the area could be involved in the incident, though investigations are still ongoing.

“We cannot allow a few individuals to frustrate development efforts in our village,” Ojara said, urging young people to turn to farming and other lawful ventures instead of crime. With the rainy season approaching, he encouraged residents, especially the youth, to take advantage of agricultural opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

In a separate case reported last week, four cattle were allegedly stolen from a household in Angaba Village. The theft has raised anxiety among livestock keepers who rely heavily on cattle for income and household support.

Police at Koro Police Station have confirmed receiving reports related to both incidents. Authorities say inquiries are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects. Community members have also been encouraged to cooperate with security personnel by providing any useful information that could aid investigations.

Local leaders are calling for unity and vigilance among residents to safeguard property and protect development initiatives aimed at uplifting vulnerable groups.

The LC1 leadership has reiterated its commitment to working hand in hand with law enforcement agencies to restore calm and ensure those found responsible face legal consequences.
